Procreate vs Medibang Paint

Procreate vs Medibang Paint

I use both apps and Ive seen artist create equally amazing artwork out of both-

Knowing the programs:

Procreate has a more simplistic layout geared towards sketching. You can easily adjust brush size and pressure on the side. What I enjoy most about procreate is the unique brushes (as well as making my own brushes) and of course the instant play back video which you can easily upload your progress on sites-

Pros:
-Clean simple layout
-Large amount of unique brushes
-Playback video
-Good pressure sensitivity

Cons-
-Hard to find some tools like layer opacity
-No shape tools/text
-Only for ipad/iphone
-Cost around 5.99$

MedibangPaint feels more like an actual pc program than an app- it has a lot of unique tools to help create shapes, screen tones, paneling, and even text.

Pros-
-Good for editing
-Really good features for comic and manga making
-Available on pc, apple products, and android.
-Available free

Cons-
-Confusing load/save functions
-Hard to find a lot of tools
-Messy layout
-Simple brushes

My recommendation is (if possible) use both apps. Each app offers something a little different that the other lacks- I typically use Procreate to draw/color and MedibangPaint to edit/add shape/text.
ipad pro + ipad pencil review

ipad pro + ipad pencil review

Im going to be reviewing them as a package deal but they are actually sold separately- I bought my ipad pro for around 1,000$ and ipencil was around $99.

I started using my ipad mini to draw with around 2 years ago or so and it was pretty good but i felt limited on what I could do. And there was never any good stylus.

I kept seeing many artist using ipad pro and ipencil and I really liked what I saw but I was really cautious until taking the plunge-

I am really happy that I did!

I was shocked by the size when I went to go buy one. As you can see its bigger than my laptop (and with a bluetooth keyboard it basically is a laptop btw)

The precision when drawing is what won me over though. I feel like im actually drawing and prefer it over paper (thought Id never say this) Comparing it to wacom I actually like it over cintiq.

Pros-
-Portable/can be used anywhere
-Better pressure sensitivity
-Can be connected via apps to your pc and use photoshop and other programs
-Screen is large enough to watch videos on at the same time you draw
-Drawing apps are cheaper than most pc programs

Cons-
-Size (I think it would be better a little smaller but thats just me)
-Price
Hott and cold press

Hott and cold press

Arches hotpress vs cold press

Hotpress paper is smoother and holds color more vibrant, I recommend using for mix media and copic work.

Coldpress is better for blending and granulated pieces.

Random doodle using Koi watercolor-

I really liked the golden yellow and wanted to try, I was originally going to finish coloring the piece but ended up liking it as is.
